John Gardner
November 20, 1926 - August 3, 2007
John Gardner, the second official James Bond continuation novelist, passed away a year ago today. During his tenure, Gardner penned fourteen Bond novels and two novelizations including 1982’s For Special Services and 1994’s SeaFire which feature Felix Leiter.
In 1982, Gardner created Cedar Leiter, Felix’s daughter. Like her father, Cedar worked for the Central Intelligence Agency and aided Bond in For Special Services.
Last year, Gardner died from suspected heart failure. He was a great novelist and will be remembered forever for his Bond work as well as his original creations, including his three Moriarty novels.
His final novel, Moriarty, will be published posthumously on November 10. You can pre-order the novel at Amazon.com.

I came to this site completely out of the blue and it is such a coincidence because, one I didn’t know John Gardner had passed away and two I am actually reading his James Bond book of the film Licence to Kill at this very moment. I was wondering how he’d write the maiming of Felix, explaining it away as him being attacked again in the exact same way! Poor Felix. I wasn’t very impressed with that but what else could he have done when it had already happened years ago in Live and Let Die. By the way great site. Very informative.

Many thanks for remembering my Father & his work.
it is appreciated. For those of you who have been checking the old website we are still in the process of re-designing it. It will not be long before it is fully operational again. Obviously we want it up and running to promote the release of Moriarty later this year. It is difficult to take in that a year has gone by since his death and I would like to thank all the members of Commander Bond and affiliated/linked sites for their tributes to my Dad. A wonderful writer, and Magical man who is very much missed. We do have a certain amount of exclusive 007 memorabillia which we are considering selling, any information as to the best way of doing this outside of EBay would be helpful. Please email me on simg@mail2web.com
Once Again Thank You All
Simon R.J. Gardner
